Privacy Policy

Introduction
At Lux Taxi Lugano, your privacy is important to us. We are committed to protecting your personal data and handling it responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our services.
Information We Collect
We may collect and process the following types of personal information:
- Contact Information: Name, phone number, and email address
- Booking Details: Pickup and drop-off locations, date and time of ride
- Payment Information: Payment method and transaction details (processed securely via third-party providers)
- Preferences & Notes: Service preferences or special requests (e.g., language, luggage, accessibility needs)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Provide and manage our taxi and chauffeur services
- Process and confirm bookings and payments
- Communicate with you regarding your reservations or inquiries
- Enhance the quality and safety of our services
We do not use your data for marketing without your consent.
Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses a small number of third-party services to keep it online and to understand how it is used. We process this data under the nFADP and, where applicable, the GDPR.
Google Analytics runs only with your consent. It is not loaded at all until you accept on our cookie banner, and if you decline or ignore the banner no Google Analytics script is loaded, no request is sent to Google Analytics, and no analytics cookie is set. Once you accept, it sets first-party cookies beginning with _ga that recognize a returning browser for up to two years, and it records:
- Pages viewed, along with what Google Analytics collects automatically, such as approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, language, referring site, and basic interactions like scrolling and outbound clicks
- A single custom event named contact_event when a visitor taps to call, opens WhatsApp, or successfully submits our contact form, recording only the contact method, the site language, and, on a route page, which route was being read
That event never includes your name, phone number, email address, or the content of your message, and the contact form version is recorded only once our server has confirmed the submission.
Two further services run without your consent, on the basis of our legitimate interest:
- Hosting and Site Statistics: Our website is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard connection data (IP address, browser and device type, page requested, timestamp) in its server logs, as any web host must, and provides us with aggregate visitor and page-speed statistics. Visits are counted using a short-lived identifier that cannot be traced back to you, is not shared with other websites, and is not reused from one day to the next. Nothing is stored on your device
- Spam Protection: Pages carrying our contact form load Google reCAPTCHA, which sets a cookie and examines how the form is used in order to tell people apart from bots. This is a security measure and is not used for analytics
Our legitimate interest here is knowing how many people reach our website and whether it loads properly for them, and keeping our contact form free of abuse. Google and Vercel are United States companies, so this data may be processed outside Switzerland and the EU, under their data-processing agreements and recognized transfer safeguards such as the EU standard contractual clauses.
We do not use any of these tools for advertising, remarketing, or profiling. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell, rent, or trade this data.
Your banner choice is stored in your browser's local storage for this website only, never in an account or on our servers. To change or withdraw it, clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser settings, and the banner will appear again on your next visit. Declining stops Google Analytics from loading entirely. The cookieless statistics and the spam protection are unaffected, because neither ever depended on your consent. You may also block or delete cookies in your browser at any time, or install Google's Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
We may share your information only in the following cases:
- With our licensed drivers, to fulfill your booking
- With legal authorities if required by law or court order
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Lux Taxi Lugano or others (e.g., fraud prevention)
All third parties are contractually obligated to maintain data confidentiality.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
These include:
- Secure data storage with restricted access
- Encrypted communication channels (e.g. HTTPS)
- Regular review of security policies and procedures
Your Rights
Under Swiss data protection law (and the GDPR, if applicable), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data (unless retention is legally required)
- Object to or restrict processing, where applicable
- Withdraw consent at any time (when consent was the legal basis)
Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary to:
- Fulfill the purposes described above
- Comply with legal and accounting requirements
After that, your data is securely deleted or anonymized.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website with the effective date noted.
