Your itinerary

Most days begin close to the centre, at Parco Ciani and along the Lugano lakefront, before the car follows the shoreline out to Gandria, a cluster of stone houses stacked above the water and usually reached in well under half an hour. Many guests continue on to Morcote, often called one of the prettiest villages on the lake, for a slow walk along its arcaded lanes and lakeside steps.

For the view, we build in time at Monte Brè or San Salvatore — both reached by funicular — where Lugano and its lake spread out below you.

None of it is fixed: your host reorders stops, adds a swim or a long lunch, or drops something altogether, reshaping the day around whatever you'd rather do.

Your journey

The whole day stays inside Switzerland — there's no border to cross and nothing to plan around beyond your own pace. We follow the lakeshore road out of central Lugano, tracing the water past small harbours and wooded headlands as the route opens onto villages that mostly reveal themselves only from the car window. Your driver waits at every stop and reshapes the route as the day unfolds, so a longer coffee in Gandria or an extra half hour at Monte Brè never disrupts the plan — the plan is simply whatever you decide as you go.

Vehicle & capacity

Your car for the day is a Mercedes-Benz V-Class, with easy room for up to six — a family or small group in one car — and space for the bags, cameras and layers a day of lake and mountain air invites.
