Taxi Lugano ↔ Milan — fixed-fare city & Centrale transfer

Our private transfer links Lugano with central Milan and Milano Centrale station, around 80 kilometres away across the Italian border. This is the city transfer — distinct from our Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo airport runs — taking roughly an hour to an hour and 15 minutes depending on traffic. The price is one fixed fare agreed before you set off.

Your journey

The drive is about 80 kilometres and takes around an hour to an hour and 15 minutes in normal conditions, a little longer if the border is busy or traffic into Milan is heavy. We leave Lugano on the A2 motorway, cross into Italy at Chiasso–Brogeda and continue on the A9 past Como toward Milan, joining the city's ring road for the final approach into the centre.

A valid passport or ID card is all you need — the crossing itself is routine, and your driver handles it as a normal part of the journey. We bring you right to the door, whether that's Milano Centrale station, a hotel near the Duomo, or an address further out.

The direct train between Lugano and Milano Centrale is a genuine alternative — frequent, roughly comparable in journey time, and the cheaper way to travel. Plenty of guests still choose a private transfer for what the train can't offer: no changes, no station queues, room for luggage and larger groups, and a car ready at any hour, including the late runs once evening trains thin out. We're happy to be the comfortable option alongside a perfectly good train, not a replacement for it.

Vehicle & capacity

Your car for the transfer is a Mercedes-Benz V-Class, with easy room for up to six and enough boot space for a Milan shopping trip, a case of trade-fair samples or the luggage of a longer stay — a family or group travels together in one car. Child seats fitted on request; step-free or assisted access arranged when you book. Bringing more than usual? Tell us and we'll make sure it fits.

At your destination

At your destination we set you down anywhere in Milan — Milano Centrale station, a hotel near the Duomo or in the centre, an office, or Rho Fiera for a trade fair or exhibition — with flexibility on the exact address if your plans shift on the way. We aim to have you there punctually, with help for your luggage to the door. For the return we collect you from any Milan address at the time you choose and bring you back to Lugano, the same fixed fare agreed in advance.

If you'd rather have a hosted day out in Milan — shopping, the Galleria, the centre — than a point-to-point ride, our Milan day-trip tour is built for exactly that.

Questions about this route

Do I need a passport for the transfer to Milan?

Yes — a valid passport or ID card is all you need. We cross into Italy at Chiasso–Brogeda as a routine part of the journey, and the crossing itself is handled by your driver; it's already covered by the fixed fare we agree in advance.

Is this the transfer to Milano Centrale, or to the Milan airports?

This route is for the city of Milan and Milano Centrale station. If you're flying, our separate Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo airport transfer pages cover those routes instead — just tell us your destination and we'll point you to the right page.

How is the fixed fare for Lugano–Milan agreed?

Tell us your pickup point, the date and how many passengers and bags you're travelling with, and we confirm one fixed price before you travel. No meter, no surge — the fare you agree is the fare you pay.

Can you take a group with extra luggage to Milan?

Yes. The Mercedes V-Class seats up to six with generous boot space, so a family, a group or a full set of trade-fair or shopping bags travels together in one car. Tell us your numbers when you book and we'll make sure there's room.

Can you collect us late at night, once the trains have stopped?

Yes — we run at any hour. It's often exactly when direct trains between Lugano and Milan have thinned out for the night that a private transfer is most useful; tell us your time and we'll have a car ready.
